My we-place

My work experience was at the W.F stables. I have been riding, clean out boxes, and polish saddles and trans. I also got to go out and in with horses. The W.F stables got trotters and Arabian horses. I have been follow to the clinic with an Arabian horse called Commander. He had a wound near the hoof and they had to sew the wound. It was very interesting to see how they sew the wound because I want to be a vet when I´m older. I have been riding three different trotters, Maldini, Nosen and Barry. I also got to ride some of the Arabian horses, I rode a grey and one chestnut, the grey called Beatrice and the chestnut one called Kamilia. It was another trainee there called Jennifer at the same time so we did the most of the things tougher. The owner of the stable is Madelene Wikstén. For a while ago she saved 3 ponies. She decided to keep 2 of them and sell the other one to a good home. She kept Emil and Chila. Jennifer and me took care of the ponies. We also took care of the mares that are pregnant. Jennifer and I rode one lap around the mountain. I´d really liked to work there because horses are a big interest for me. I can imagine to work there if I´m not being a vet, I would like to work with horses but I want to work with animals whatever I do.

English recipe Chocolate cake

Chocolate cake recipe

Ingredients:

·      100 g of butter

·      2 eggs

·      2,5 dl of powdered sugar

·      1 tablespoon of vanilla sugar

·      3 tablespoons of cocoa

Instructions:

Preheat oven to 175°C.

First melt the butter in a saucepan on the stove. Then let the butter cool.

 Whisk together the eggs and the sugar with an electric mixer.

Then you add the vanilla sugar and the cocoa and whisk with the electric mixer at the lowest rate.

At last you add the flour and the melted butter and whisk the batter.

Then cover the pan with butter and then pour the batter into the pan.

Let the cake be in the oven at least 20 minutes.

When the cake is done let it cool until it is time to eat it.

The different between my translated recipe and an English recipe:

·      Instead for using a pan they use a pie plate

·      The English recipe is a little bit more detailed than the recipe I wrote

·      The English recipe didn´t use the word “whisk” they used stir instead

 This film called This is England.  It’s about a boy called Shaun who was 12 years old and had no friends. This film takes place in Great Britain, nineteen eighty-three (1983).  It was when Margret Thatcher was Prime minister. The war Falklands war took place in nineteen eighty-three. Shaun’s father was a soldier who died during the Falklands war. Shaun’s mother became a window after the father’s death. In school Shaun was bullied and was very sensitive when it came to his father. Sometimes he got so mad that he got into fights.

  One day when he was on his way home from school he met a skinhead gang that he began to associate with. The skinhead gang was much older than him but they were really nice to him and protected him when he needed it. The leader in the gang was a nice but weak guy called Woody. Shaun was with Woody and the others all the time. It was a girl in the gang that Shaun fell in love with, she was called Smell but her real name was Michelle. After a time an old friend of Woody came out from prison. He was called Combo. Combo was a charismatic, frustrated, psychotic National Front activist who split the gang in 2 parts, which included Shaun in Combos gang. Their anger at perceived injustice and took its expression in racist graffiti paintings, robbery and harassment of the area’s poor as called " Pakis ".

This movie came out two thousand six (2006) but is set in nineteen eighty-three (1983). The movie was written and directed by Shane Meadows. I think that This is England is a good movie to teach children something about how it was when Margret Thatcher was prime minister and how people lived and what they looked like in nineteen eighty-three (1983). It was a bit annoying with their dialect. It was very different from what I’m used to. I didn’t like the movie because it was not interesting and it was boring, but at the same time it was little bit funny and sad. From 1-5 in ratings I will give the movie two and a half (2,5).

Jeremy Sumpter is a famous actor. He was born the fifth of February nineteen eighty-nine in California. He has a twin sister called Jessica and two other siblings, Owen and Jennifer. In 2003 he starred in the movie Peter pan. Jeremy was only thirteen when he was playing Peter Pan. Peter Pan is the most famous movie he has done. Before Peter Pan he has made another movie called Frailty.  From 2001 - 2014 he has starred in 15 films and 8 TV-shows, but he was only the lead role in one series. In the other 7 TV-shows he was only in one episode.

Selma Lagerlöf

Selma Lagerlöf

Selma Ottilia Lovisa Lagerlöf born 20th november 1858 on Mårbacka, dead 16th mars 1940. She was a very successful and esteemed writer. Selma Lagerlöf was 33 years old when her debut novel Gösta Berlings saga published in 1891. She was awarded the Nobel Prize in literature 1909. Selma Lagerlöf was the first woman in the Swedish Academy. 

Formative years:  Selma Lagerlöf was born in 1858 at the mansion Marbacka as the fifth child of six to Lieutenant Erik Gustaf Lagerlof. She was born with a hip injury. When Lagerlöf was three and a half years old, towards the end of 1860, she became sick and paralyzed in both legs. This disappeared as suddenly as it had come, but her childhood was not easy because she could not play with other children. But she was a gifted child and liked to read. When she was seven years old she decided to become a writer.

Selma Lagerlöfs death: Thursday evening, March 7, 1940, she sat with her sister, when she began to feel weak and tired. At night, she became violently ill and lay unconscious in bed for a week. Saturday morning at 7:25 on March 16 Selma Lagerlof died. She was 81 years old. She was buried in East Ämtervik on Easter Eve.
